1. Wireless network not found!
If you are having trouble connecting to a WLAN hotspot (a 'Wireless network not found!' error message is often displayed), try moving closer to it. The signal can sometimes be strong enough to find the WLAN network and define it as an access point, but be too weak to actually connect to it.
2. Free Internet calls over 3G?
You may be able to make Internet calls to other people using Internet calling over 3G at no additional cost if you are on an unlimited data plan. Check with your network operator to see if Internet (VoIP) calls are allowed as part of your data plan.
3. Problems making Internet calls over WLAN?
If you are using the Nokia Internet calling client and are having trouble making Internet calls over WLAN, try using a 3rd party application instead. Many 3rd party applications include software that can overcome problems with NAT (network address translation).
4. Problems configuring the Nokia Internet calling client?
If you are having trouble setting up your SIP and Internet telephone profiles using the Nokia Internet calling client, try using a 3rd party application instead. Many 3rd party applications have all the required settings built into them, so there is no need to create profiles and enter settings manually.
5. Can't receive Internet calls?
Remember that if you are using the Nokia Internet calling application and have set your SIP registration to ‘When needed’ in your SIP profile, you have to connect and register manually to receive incoming Internet calls.
6. Registration failed!
If you are using the Nokia Internet calling application and your SIP profile registration status shows 'Registration failed', check that you entered the details provided by your service provider correctly. Remember that many details such as passwords are case sensitive.
7. Can't hear anything when you make an Internet call?
If you can make Internet calls via WLAN, but you cannot hear anything once the call is connected, you may need to perform a firmware upgrade on your phone or make changes to the settings on your router. This problem is often due to problems with NAT (network address translation) and STUN (Simple Traversal of UDP over NAT). STUN is a network protocol which helps receive UDP data properly through routers that use network address translation. Early versions of the Nokia Internet calling application (E60, E70, and early E61 models) do not support STUN, so if you have a Nokia E61 upgrading your firmware can help to resolve this problem. It may also be necessary to open certain ports on your router. Please contact your VoIP service provider for details of how to do this.
8. What firmware version do I have on my Nokia?
To find your handset's firmware number, enter *#0000# into the main screen. Your handset’s firmware number will then be displayed.
9. Want to add an Internet calling number to your existing contacts?
You can add an Internet calling number to your existing contacts. Select the contact you wish to add the number to, and then press Options > Edit > Options > Add detail. This allows you to add additional numbers to an existing contact.
10. How do I find my phone's MAC address?
The WLAN MAC address is displayed when entering *#62209526# (*#MAC WLAN#) onto the main screen.
