Locking the keys, fold closed

To lock the keys with the fold closed, press the left cover key and then the right cover key. To unlock the keys, repeat the same sequence.

To lock the keys with the fold open, press the left selection key and then the asterisk key (*). To unlock the keys, repeat the same sequence. When the keypad lock is on, calls may be possible to the official emergency number programmed into your device.

Tips for longer battery life

To prolong the operating time of your device, turn the Bluetooth technology off in Menu > Connect > Bluetooth when you do not need it. Also set Packet data connection to When needed. To close all the unused applications that are running in the background, press and hold the menu key, scroll on an application in the list and press the Clear key.

Lock your device against theft

You can set the device to ask for the lock code when an unknown SIM card is inserted into your device. The device maintains a list of SIM cards that are recognized as the owner’s cards. To set the feature on, go to Tools > Settings > General > Security > Phone and SIM card, and change the Lock if SIM card changed setting.

Back up to a memory card

To back up information from the device memory to a compatible memory card, select Menu > Tools > Memory. Then select Options > Back up phone memory. The device notifies you if the memory card does not have enough free space to create a back-up. To restore the backed up information, select Options > Restore from card.
