A natural expansion of voice calls
Video sharing is a natural way to enrich a phone conversation. You just start a normal voice call, and anytime during the conversation you can start sharing one-way video in real time. It is ideal for those times when you feel that words are just not quite enough – with video sharing you can share the moment or show what you mean.
Spontaneous sharing
Video sharing provides you with a spontaneous way of sharing the moment or your surroundings, or showing what you mean. You don’t have to know in advance, that you want to use video in your phone conversation – you can add it whenever you want during a voice call and then drop out when you no longer need the video.
Easily add and remove video
Sharing live video or video clips in real time during a normal voice call allows you to enrich your communication easily. You can add and remove the video element as you want, sharing live camera views or video clips from the device. Using video sharing is straightforward. When you have an ongoing voice call, you can select an option to start sharing video. On a Nokia 6680 it is even easier for you: while you are talking on the phone and you see something worth showing, you just pull the camera lens cover down to start sharing. Once you have shown what you wanted, you can drop the video component by simply pressing stop, and then carry on with your voice call.
Useful for both consumers and businesses
According to a recent IP Multimedia study commissioned by Nokia in 2004 users would like to share moments when on holiday, out shopping, on family outings or while out on a Saturday night. Video sharing could also provide a sense of personal security by showing where you are and with whom. Possible business uses could include viewing real estate, assisting sales and checking field work remotely.
