Nokia 5i

As part of the Nokia IP VPN gateway family, Nokia 5i is a purpose-built, fully integrated appliance specifically designed to meet the needs of small offices who need secure, broadband network connectivity with excellent price-performance.

Nokia 5i is a desktop connectivity gateway supporting leading-edge VPN, routing and firewall functionality for exceptional performance for a small office.

By supporting point-to-point protocol, Nokia 5i will provide network connectivity using broadband networks. The gateway is equipped with three configurable 10/100 Ethernet ports and a console port to connect to an external modem. Nokia 5i is also equipped with a serial port for dial backup in the event of a link disconnection on the Ethernet port.

Using Nokia 5i, small offices can extend their network to workers on-the-go through integration with Nokia Mobile VPN Client on Nokia S60 devices and series 80 devices on the Symbian operating system.

Nokia 5i

IPSec client for business optimized mobile phones

Nokia Mobile VPN Client is designed for mobile phones running the Symbian operating system and is almost transparent to the user. Once the application is launched, a connection is established and the mobile user is prompted for proof of identity using a token such as a SecurID password or a digital certificate. Once authentication to the corporate VPN occurs successfully, a VPN tunnel is established between the mobile phone and the corporate network and all data traveling to and from the device is encrypted, no matter what the mobile application. Because of the stringent security inherent in IPSec, the data is protected from being captured and retransmitted later and is received exactly how it was sent. Nokia 5i can be easily managed using Nokia VPN Manager. With the graphical interface, IT managers in small offices can manage gateway policies and configurations using an easy-to-use, centralized management solution to deploy, deliver, and update VPN policies and configurations. Nokia 5i also features a full command-line interface, SNMPv3 monitoring and remote logging services.
