Writing numerals in an SMS

To key in just one or two numerical characters into an SMS, press and hold down one of the number keys for about two seconds. It will automatically select the numerical value marked on the key. To key in several numerical characters, change the input from alpha characters to numerical characters by pressing and holding down the "#" key for about two seconds. In the upper left part of the display you will see "123" as an indication of numerical input. Press and hold down the "#" again for about two seconds to change back to alpha characters

Temporarily suspending the predictive text input

When you want to include some special words not normally found in your language in an SMS, it can be convenient to turn off the dictionary temporarily. To alternate between dictionary on and off, double-click the "#" key. An indicator in the upper left part of the display will show whether the dictionary is on or off.

Choosing the right word

The predictive text input dictionary sometimes suggests the wrong word; to easily scroll through the different words that match the keys that you have typed, simply press the *-key when a word is underlined. If the word is not in dictionary, it will not appear.

Using special characters

If you have the dictionary turned on and would like to enter a special character, press and hold down the *-key for two seconds to call up the special character display.

Counting characters and messages

An indicator in the upper right corner of the display shows the number of characters you have available in your text message and the number of text messages to be sent as "xxx / y", where "xxx" is the number of characters available and "y" is the number of messages
